After Jerry Cupit’s health failed and he passed, the label’s attorney secured a development deal opportunity with a major label in Nashville. When that corporate label refused to release the album Martin had already recorded, he chose not to sign.

After that, the industry tried again, this time pairing Martin Sims with another legendary producer and pushing polished “bro-country” demos his way.
Those songs were not him. So he walked away.
